We started 2-digit x 2-digit multiplication today (Ex 65 x 31). The procedure for solving these problems is multi-stepped. We talked about all the different ways to make mistakes (forgetting to place a zero when multiplying the tens digit, forgetting basic facts, forgetting to add a regrouped number, adding a regrouped number at the wrong time, etc). The most important thing I stress with these problems is neatness. Keep the ones, tens, and hundreds place properly aligned and make numbers legible.
Tonight's homework for math:
12.1 both sides (front side- do all, back side do 1-8 on grid paper and 26-32).
